A hard sell is a sales technique where the salesperson makes a strong and aggressive attempt to persuade the customer to purchase the product. It is direct and pushy and it is designed to get a consumer to purchase a product or service immediately without time to reflect on it.
This technique is often seen as less ethical than soft or direct-response selling.
Examples of hard sell CTAs are: “buy now” “limited time only,” “don’t miss out,” and “get yours now before it’s too late”, “buy now before time runs out” etc.
Typically, a hard sell isn’t likely to provide you with the opportunity for repeat business or build lasting connections with clients.
