Affiliates are people or organizations that are not the original seller of a product, but who receive a commission for sales of the product.
It is an agreement in which one business pays another business or influencer («the affiliate») a commission for sending traffic and/or sales their way. This can be achieved through web content, social media, or product integration by either placing links to the seller’s website, where a visitor can then place an order on their site or by including promotional material in other online media.
The typical commission models in affiliate marketing are: Cost Per Sale, Cost Per Lead, and Cost Per Click.
